The definition of serial port and parallel port pin
The difference between the parallel port and the serial port is that the way of exchanging information is different. The parallel port can transmit information through eight data lines at the same time, one byte at a time; while the serial port can only transmit one bit of data with one line, one byte at a time. Because parallel port transmits more information at the same time, the speed of parallel port is obviously higher than that of serial port, but serial port can be used for data transmission over a longer distance than parallel port.
